During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
American Red Cross - Central Appalachia Region
The American Red Cross of Central Appalachia serves 77 counties, including all of West Virginia and surrounding counties in Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland.
Our urgent need for Disaster Action Team (DAT) members includes all of these areas.
As a DAT volunteer, you will help your community when a home fire or other disaster occurs. Virtual disaster response has been implemented. If a virtual response is not possible, DAT response procedures will require maintaining social distancing (6 feet apart) and provide materials to the client without direct personal contact.
Requirements and Commitment: Must be age 18+, commit to 24 on-call volunteer hours per month and training to serve in the role.
Other volunteer positions within our Disaster volunteer team include assessing the emergency and dispatching appropriately, follow up case work, mental health, health and spiritual services.

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
Every single day, the American Red Cross helps people in emergencies. Whether itメs one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, our vital work is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.
We'll work with your schedule.
