FirstLight Community Foundation is seeking volunteers to help host virtual events focused on budgeting, goal setting, and financial literacy initiatives for youth and families in our community. We need volunteers to help us make an impact in the youth in our community and to also assist local schools in teachers with teaching their students the basics of financial education.

We partner with local schools, universities, trade and technical schools to provide financial in-person or virtual financial education.
Through outreach programs, we work with community and non-profit organizations to build financial confidence.
Though grantmaking, member contributions, and the generosity of the community, we provide educational scholarships to our servicing school districts in El Paso, Ft. Bliss, and Las Cruces communities.

Description
The FirstLight Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that was founded in 2015, when our Board of Directors and Management team at FirstLight wanted to do more for and give back to our underserved communities. Through strategic analysis, the decision was made to incorporate financial literacy and scholarships as a focus for our foundation, in order to help the youth and families achieve financial independence.

- This would be on an as needed basis for events ranging in 1-4 hours long (more than likely 1-2 hours for most virtual events)
- We would like you to have financial knowledge but you do not need to be an expert. We want someone who is passionate about teaching youth and families the things they need to know to be financially independent.
