Special Olympics Delaware offer athletes the opportunity to play sports. As a Head or Assistant Coach you will need to commit to attending a weekly practice with athletes and coach them towards a culminating event or competition in June.
If you are an experienced tennis player or a tennis coach and want to do something rewarding and fun, this is the opportunity for you.
The mission of Special Olympics Delaware is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Special Olympics Delaware has been changing the lives of Delawareans since 1971. Through sports training and competition in 20 sports, more than 4,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities have proven that, given the chance, no disability is too great to overcome.
