Do you like, or even better, LIVE FOR MONARCH BUTTERFLIES? Ventura RCD does, so come outdoors and join us as we save the dwindling population! We have plenty of upcoming opportunities to get involved with on the ground restoration and important yearly counts. ALL levels of expertise are encouraged & welcomed!

Did you know in both 2018 and 2019, volunteers counted under 30,000 monarchs - less than 1% of the population’s historic size when compared to the 1980s! An iconic migration is on the verge of collapse - we must all do our part to save western monarchs!

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE NOW!

If you are interested in spending some time outdoors, getting your hands dirty, learning a thing or two, socially distant of course, and want to make an impact on your community visit the online survey link below or contact the Resource Conservation Specialist, Andy Spyrka, at andyspyrka.vcrcd@gmail.com to sign-up and become a VCRCD Eco Warrior for Monarch Butterflies!

Ventura County RCD has a variety of Monarch and pollinator restoration projects across Ventura and Santa Barbara County, we'd love to get YOUR helping hands to restore the habitat. All experience levels are welcomed. We need volunteers ASAP to conduct important yearly counts in our area NOW! We are happy to train you.

Make a lasting difference in YOUR community!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to collaborate with landowners, government agencies, and other willing partners to facilitate the conservation and restoration of Ventura County's natural resources for current and future generations.

Description

The Ventura County Resource Conservation District (VCRCD) is a special district of the state and is primarily funded by grants. We provide assistance to help both rural and urban communities to conserve, protect, and restore natural resources.

The Ventura County RCD is a local unit of the government and is administered under the provisions of Division 9, of the Public Resource Code, State of California. The VCRCD is one of 99 RCDs in California and belongs to the California Association of RCDs (CARCD).

The VCRCD is governed by a board of seven Directors appointed for four-year terms by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Directors must be landowners or agents of landowners residing within the District. Regular Directors meetings are held at 8:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month except for August and December, which have no meetings.
