ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) team, specifically the Resource Mobilization & Support (RMS) unit. COVID Coordinators will be part of the National COVID Workforce Care Unit. Coordinators will collaborate with the Assistant Director (AD) of Workforce (WF) and Disaster Health Services (DHS) provide support to workers who have COVID exposures or test positive on a disaster relief operation, or who must quarantine upon their return home. Coordinators will also provide support to the Staffing team to identify workers who are returning home to state-mandated quarantines; communicate with Regions whose workers are impacted by COVID and fulfill all HR COVID Portal reporting requirements.

  • Provide COVID related documents and support to DRO’s
  • Attend daily DRO Workforce Care meetings
  • Collaborate with DHS, AD/WF to ensure exposed or ill responders are guided to properly quarantine or isolate as responder condition dictates
  • Collaborate with DHS, AD/WF & other members of the Workforce Care team to ensure responders are cared for physically, mentally and spiritually during their quarantine period
  • Communicate with responder’s home region regarding responder’s status
  • Communicate via and document all information utilizing Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel
  • Enter all cases in the HR COVID NOW Portal
  • Enter Restriction Pending’s on all impacted responders’ profiles and remove them when quarantine period has expired
  • Locate COVID testing sites near responder’s work and/or home locations
  • Validate requests for Mission Card reloads based on quarantine status
  • Utilize various websites to provide updated state quarantine guidelines to the Staffing team members conducting out-processing In conjunction with the AD/WF and staffing team, ensure lodging at home of record is secured for responders returning home to quarantine and that rooms are promptly cancelled when responders have completed quarantine period

  • Ability to compassionately communicate with responders and managers required
  • Listens actively and attentively skills required Understands the motivations of volunteers required
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, pivot charts)
  • Data analysis skills preferred
  • Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) experience preferred
  • Disaster Staffing experience preferred
  • Volunteer Connection experience preferred
  • Operations Management G/A/P preferred Medical background or experience with COVID protocols preferred
  • Comfortable utilizing Microsoft products, including Outlook, Teams and Excel, required
  • Comfortable operating in a complex environment and handling multiple tasks at ones, require
  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule for a minimum of 6 months, required
  • Comfortable recording personal medical information (related to COVID) and keeping that information confidential, required
