Are you passionate about helping kids and the community? Are you looking for a chance to gain valuable experience in social media/marketing? We’re looking for social media/content creation experts to join the Santa Barbara Alternatives to Violence Project team!

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing AVP’s social media brand and presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Creating social media campaigns and strategies, including budget planning, original content for all assigned platforms, and implementation/posting schedules
  • Proposing ideas for innovations in content (ex: new digital content formats, interactive elements, etc.)
  • Tracking and managing analytics for digital platforms and content
How to know if this role may be right for you:
  • No previous experience necessary, but you are passionate about social media, marketing, and content creation!
  • You’re creative, with a lot of great ideas and initiative
  • You’re eager to expand your interpersonal and communication skills
  • You have a passion for AVP’s mission and values and can communicate this to general audiences

Description

Who is SBAVP?

The Santa Barbara Alternatives to Violence Project is a multicultural volunteer organization that is dedicated to reducing interpersonal violence in our society, exploring different ways of handling conflict, and bringing people together as we seek to better understand one another. SBAVP has offered laughter-filled community workshops in Santa Barbara since 1992. We also offer workshops at the Lompoc Federal Prison! SBAVP is part of AVP California, AVP USA, and AVP International.

Our Approach:

SBAVP offers workshops that aid participants in discovering new conflict management tools, learning about relationships and communication, and building leadership skills, thus enabling individuals to:

  • Build successful interpersonal interactions
  • Reflect and gain deeper insights into themselves
  • Find positive, new approaches to life

The Result:

These experiential workshops empower individuals not only to liberate themselves from the burden of violence, but also to become leaders in their communities.
