MOTLEY ZOO ANIMAL RESCUE

Image_202102091302

Motley Zoo seeks people interested in working at our Mission Center Studio in Redmond WA who have an interest in dogs for the position of Dog Agent.

The position starts with a 4 week training (once/ week for a 4 hour shift= 16hrs total) course where you not only learn specifics about Motley Zoo and how the rescue works, you also learn how the daycare helps support the mission. As well, you will learn how to help maintain our Mission Center Studio so it is available for daycare and adoptions- and once trained, you can participate in animal intakes. Beyond that, the training course also teaches you the basics of dog behavior and management so you can eventually run a room full of dogs on your own.

Once trained, you can continue with a weekly shift and or also take on remote work that supports other aspects of our operation such as web development, application processing, graphic design and more.

There is room for growth as well with a Dog Training Apprenticeship which takes a deeper delve into the dog training aspects of your work- and will actually help you prepare for a career in dog training if you desire.

Once the course is complete, apprentices have the potential to apply for a paid contract- as this professional commitment is what separates the volunteers from those that do have a career with us.

We encourage you to come in and get some experience with the dogs hands on and help us save the lives of more animals in need.

Mission Statement

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.

Description

Motley Zoo was founded in 2009 and has rescued and rehomed more than 3,330 animals since! More than 30% of the animals we take in are medical/ special needs and require many times the average cost of care. Round the clock care is provided by a network of foster homes- families just like yours who offer to care for one of our animals in their home until a forever family is found! We also have a Mission Center Studio in Redmond, WA where we offer services like dog daycare and training which not only help dog owners in the community, but also helps bring in much needed funds for the rescue. Motley Zoo spends on average, $15,000 per month on veterinary care- and are primarily funded by donations from individuals; people giving what they can. We also sell some great, fun animal loving apparel on our store, www.mzbehindtheseamz.com- where every item literally supports and animal in our care...and you can see which animal right in the description! In all, we're a one-of-a-kind organization that strives to empower YOU to rock rescue and save lives!
