During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Growing Roots is a non-profit organization serving our community members with autism, down syndrome and other diverse abilities. We use nature-based activity (gardening and animal care) to support our participants in building job skills, social skills, independence and a greater quality of life. This spring we are expanding our garden in order to create a CSA. We will need help with planting, weeding, harvesting and every garden-related task in between! Come spend some time in nature for a good cause! All COVID-19 protocols will be strictly followed. No experience required!

"Growing Roots’ mission is to provide a therapeutic, nature-based learning and working facility that allows all individuals to live a meaningful, satisfying life and to reach their highest potential."
There is an immense need for persons with developmental and cognitive challenges to have a place where they can stay active, gain life skills, find meaning and build self-esteem through working and learning in a dynamic, safe and motivating environment. We are confident that for many, this can be accomplished through interaction with nature and through the care of crops and animals to produce valuable resources for the community.
We'll work with your schedule.
