Associate Director Of Operations Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced probono Associate Director to work alongside our Director and Volunteer Coordinator to oversee and lead our programs, volunteers, and assets. This is someone who wants a lasting and rewarding experience serving the most at-risk in their community.

ARM operates several major volunteer and outreach initiatives throughout the year including:

• Mobile Showers
• Handwashing Station
• Free Haircut Programs
• Care Packing Events
• Health Screening Days
• Community Supported Dinners
• Community Art Therapy
  

The ideal candidate will be in the Central NJ area, willing to donate their skills for approximately 10-15 hours a week, and can commit to growing with our team over the next year or more . This is a volunteer role perfect for individuals looking to give back with their skills, make an impact in their community, and build up relevant experience with a growing cause.

We are looking for a leader with exceptional interpersonal skills who can distinguish talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire. You must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

A successful candidate will be passionate about our mission, have experience recruiting and managing volunteers, and be able to create and implement a workflow and strategy to encourage participation, advocacy, and growth of our volunteer support base.

• Manage volunteer staff and volunteers to accomplish efficient service delivery and manage inventory appropriately
• Conduct meetings and promote programs to cultivate meaningful partnerships with like minded agencies to improve impact
• Sustain and develop existing external collaborations, formal partnerships, and membership in partner networks engaged in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
• Identify potential strategic partners, including but not limited to local, city, and state disaster services agencies, and create, nurture, and develop those partnerships.
• Recruit volunteers through various techniques (meetups, community events, databases, e-mail, social media, etc.)
• Review candidate profiles and produce schedules for everyday activities
• Coordinate and train teams of volunteers for large-scale actions
• Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
• Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
• Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments

Associate Director Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
• Previous volunteer event planning experience.
• Previous volunteer management experience.
• Warehouse/Inventory experience strongly preferred

Archangel Raphael’s Mission (ARM) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides health and hygiene services to those who need it. ARM seeks to restore personal dignity by creating a network of individuals and businesses that provide health, hygiene and various other support services.

Currently, in response to the COVID19 pandemic we operate a mobile handwashing and comfort supply station in concert with daily dinner service in New Brunswick. Additionally, we will begin offering free showers this spring via our mobile shower trailer! During typical times we also run several haircut programs and community-supported dinners, with plans to launch our first Mobile Assistance Unit (MAU) to provide health and human services to those in need, when they need it. The MAU is a trailer designed to house several human services functionalities including: health screenings, social work consults, hygiene and clothing resources, and more.
