ArtWorks for Milwaukee is a nonprofit which offers high school students paid art and skill-building internships. We seek a marketing/public relations intern who is an upper level college student or recent graduate pursuing a career in marketing or non-profit administration. Interns have the opportunity to gain experience in all marketing aspects of the organization.

Job duties include:

  • Coordinate social media activities (i.e. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social reach and building meaningful connections, etc.)
  • Design and write e-newsletters
  • Update ArtWorks’ website
  • Coordinate marketing/public relations for the organization’s 20th anniversary, including participate in developing the plan, manage social media, create e-newsletters, and support virtual events
  • Possibility of coordinating and marketing virtual fundraisers
  • Coordinate media outreach
  • Other special project duties as assigned.

2021 marks ArtWorks' 20th anniversary of providing teens with paid, skill-building internships in the arts. Over 1,400 high school students have completed Artworks ’ internships during this time. Each year, ArtWorks ’ interns work on murals, videos, and other projects which strengthen their confidence and work ethic, and provide outlets for positive creative expression. These projects also contribute to the quality of life in our community with the addition of public art and positive perceptions of the city ’ s youth. ArtWorks is often a student ’ s first job experience and gives them a safe and nurturing space to learn, test, and develop skills that are critical to today ’ s workforce: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, innovation, problem solving, and creativity.
