We are looking for volunteers to interpret during meetings with clients, translate documents and provide support on immigration cases under close supervision. Our clients are survivors of trauma and persecution and we are looking for volunteers who are compassionate and comfortable hearing painful stories. The staff is collegial and good hearted. We are working remotely right now and may resume in person services later in the year.

The mission of the Center for Safety & Change is to develop strategies to end gender-based violence and provide shelter and supportive services that empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and other crimes.

Description

The Center for Safety and Change is Rockland County's domestic violence, rape crisis and human traffficking agency. The agency offers shelter, counseling, support groups, court advocacy, rape crisis and legal services to survivors. The Center also does prevention and education work in schools and at college campuses.
