We now have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer Senior Electrical Engineer to remotely work within a multi-disciplinaryproject team that includes architects, surveyors, contractorsand other engineers (mechanical and structural).Reporting to the Head of Program, you will be involved in all stages of project life cycles; ensuring projects are designed, developed and maintained to be efficient, safe, reliable and sustainable.
To be successful in this role, you should have good experience undertaking and delivering high quality detailed engineering design for electrical building services including calculations, drawings, technical reports and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Analyse technical drawings and interpret technical specifications to determine the electrical requirements of projects
Develop and review electrical design plans and work schedules
Preparespecifications and cost estimates for electrical equipment and materials
Coordinate/engage electrical contractors to ensure they follow design plans
Undertake multi-discipline design & coordination activities with architects and other members of the project team
Requirements:
Experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer in a building design engineering capacity
Good knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance in construction
Ability to actively take initiative and help set things up in a start-up environment
Ability to actively seek and give input in a collaborative team environment
A committed team player with good communication skills
Available to volunteer at least 7-10 hours a week
