At The Brain Tumour Charity, we are continually striving to learn and improve, to develop our work and broaden our reach. Brain tumours can affect anyone and from all walks of life, so The Charity champions diversity and inclusion by meeting the needs of our community: by developing services, resources and a workforce as diverse as they are. But we seek to become more diverse and inclusive and we know we must do more to engage with underrepresented communities.
As equality, diversity and inclusion are important to The Charity and our work, we recognise the need for continued focus and further investment in this area. We're currently looking for a volunteer to support this Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work, to be co-opted to The Brain Tumour Charity’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and contribute to our Inclusion Taskforce.
Alongside the members of the committee, which is made up of team members from across the organisation and our board of Trustees, you will use your expertise in this area to help guide The Charity and ensure we are proactive in identifying any areas for improvement, and guide on our work to address them.
We would love to hear from you if you have personal experience in, and passion for, developing diversity and inclusion projects. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, passionate and eager to drive progress and support projects from inception to execution.
The Charity encourages expressions of interest from a wide variety of backgrounds who will bring diversity of thought and experience, as well as new and challenging perspectives to the organisation.
We anticipate that the time commitment for this role will be approximately one day per month (spread across various activities) and we’re looking for a volunteer who can commit to supporting The Charity for six months initially.
To express your interest in this role, either complete our online volunteer application form (https://www.thebraintumourcharity.org/get-involved/volunteering/volunteer-application-form/) or submit a copy of your CV, along with further information about your motivation for wanting to apply and the skills you think you could bring to the role, to volunteering@thebraintumourcharity.org
