Homeless Children living in crisis

Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers and solely supported by public donations. Our mission is to help homeless children succeed and escape their cycle of poverty.
Our agency has a unique opportunity. We need someone with fundraising experience in obtaining matching funds, in kind donations, and community involvement.
We purchased a home that needs to be rehabilitated. This home is now a larger one family home, and we are going to turn it into a duplex home to house two families. It will be used as a transitional housing program for the homeless families who are ready for the next step just need the extra support to move into permanent housing.
We are working with a group who travels the world and helps rehab and build homes or projects for homeless and poverty stricken children. They volunteer their time and help raise funds for the construction costs as well.

We are looking for someone who is willing to reach out to the community for support.
I do know there are matching grants for this type of housing projects, but do not know how to find them... but there is also other ways that are available in the community. We just need someone who has time to work on this project.
Some examples or ideas we feel would be a great start.
1. Connect with local lumber yards, construction stores, such as Home Depo, HPM, etc.
2. Connect with local companies who have windows/doors, etc.
3. Connect with companies that deal with construction, such as insurance, mortgage, realtors, etc.
the list can go on.

The goal is to have these companies either donate supplies, offer a larger discount for material needed, or make a donation toward our over all goal.

Our budget goal is to raise total $110,000.00, we have approx $35,000. already. So this could be used as leverage towards matching as well.

This is our agencies largest project and we are in need of someone with grant writing skills, or letter of intent letters to companies, etc.

The project is located on Big Island of Hawai'i, in the Puna district. However, we would accept donations from any area.

Mahalo for your time and concern. Please connect with me for more details and your concerns or questions.

Description

Project Hawai'i, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of children living in poverty situations on the islands of Hawai'i. Our public supported charity works year round to provide necessities to children living in substandard housing situations, such as tents on the waters edge, abandon vehicles, and make-shift structures hidden in the bushes and hills.

Our agency provides children with holiday parties, meals and services for all the major holidays including Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Other monthly services include providing emergency support, hygiene, food, clothing and outreach to the children living in homeless situations on 3 of the islands of Hawai'i, the Big Island (Hawai'i), Mau'i and O'ahu.

Project Hawai'i also provides educational and nutritional programs that include after school reading and tutoring programs and our summer camp activities. Children will also receive full back to school support from new backpacks filled with supplies, new outfits, and shoes. We also provide other educational needs throughout the year.

Project Hawai'i Summer Camp has ran for 15 years and won several dozen awards in nutrition and educational support. This program is our largest endevor and evolves year after to year to include even more learning opportunities to our keiki.
