We are looking for energetic volunteers to assist our team with the day-to-day care of our barns and horses!
Volunteers will help with feeding, turning out, and bringing in horses, cleaning stalls, and assisting staff with other care. For those with extensive horse experience, we are always looking for individuals to exercise ride, assist in rehabilitation, and manage injuries and disease, after general care is done for the day.
TRRAC is a nonprofit Thoroughbred aftercare program and sanctuary, so volunteers will be working directly with retired racehorses and sanctuary residents, so horse experience is required. Additionally, volunteers must be able to carry 50 pounds. Our team works every day from 7 am to noon and training is provided for all new volunteers.
Visit our website at www.ottbs.org to learn more about TRRAC.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to assist, rescue and provide medical care, rehabilitation and safe sanctuary to retiring or already retired thoroughbred race horses when their racing careers come to an end.
Description
TRRAC is a 501c3 non-profit that was established in 2017 by Maui Meadow Farm, Pennsylvania's oldest thoroughbred farm since 1946 as a means to allow safe sanctuary to retiring thoroughbred racehorses when their racing careers come to an end. We provide rehabilitation for horses who have suffered injuries, as well as therapy by means of our indoor equine swimming pool. Our program provides financial assistance for horses in need of surgery or hospital/clinic stays and offers each horse a safe place to unwind and experience much-needed downtime in a stress-free zone. When our horses are ready, we provide professional training to teach them new careers. These careers range from pleasure and trail, to therapy work, police duty, and even upper-level show jumping.
Our farm is a quiet 65-acre sanctuary, with a gated entrance and camera monitored. Our volunteers are like family to us and we have many volunteers who range from animal caretaking to assisting with maintaining the property, as well as spreading our message through advertisement and helping us man our booths are expos or events. No amount of time or effort for any job is too small and is always very much appreciated.
