POSITION DESCRIPTION: Create lessons for distance learning using tools such as PowerPoint, videos saved on YouTube, Zoom, and Google Meets. Staff instructors provide training, guidance, material, and support. There is also the opportunity to deliver lessons using distance formats such as Canvas, Google Meets, or Zoom.
DESIRED Skills and abilities for these placements: Sensitive and adaptable to learners’ differences. Accepting of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Experience creating lessons or trainings for specific topics. The ability to use or learn new technology programs and apps. Good interpersonal skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Patience and enthusiasm. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects. Commitment to bettering lives through education. Willingness to learn from others. Previous teaching experience a plus but not required. Access to reliable internet and cell phone connections at a home-based workspace is required.

Sound Learning provides instruction to adults to improve reading, writing, and math skills; study for a GED;participate in a diploma program; or study English for Speakers of Other Languages. Our low-cost services are provided in Mason and Thurston Counties.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) helping community members build their self-sufficiency and contribute to their local community through work, family life and education, providing services for 281 adults in Mason and Thurston counties during the 2009-2010 program year with over 10,000 hours of instruction time, thanks to our 185 volunteers and many supporters.
