ORGANIZATION: Coastal Family Partners

Want to be at the helm of a blooming nonprofit organization that thrives in the child/youth/family services space?

We're Coastal Family Partners, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was founded in 2020. Over the last two years we have experienced exceptional growth thanks to funding from several reputable sources who help us live out our mission. We are VERY interested in the well-being and school readiness of young children ages 0-5. We're equally dedicated to understanding hardships their parents face on their journey of maintaining a healthy family. Because children are so vulnerable during their formative years, we provide parents with education, innovative technology, case management, referrals, and support to help them become better versions of themselves. Before we grow more, we are looking to improve governance by inviting 4-5 new Board Members who can lend their expertise to our agency.

So, what specifically are we looking for? We believe in diversity in thought and practice. We are looking for professionals or students at the collegiate level who have an interest and/or knowledge of social/human services, education (any level), parenting, finance/accounting, OR fundraising (experience in all areas NOT necessary). We also invite community members who simply have a passion for child/youth/family services to apply for this volunteer Board Member role.

How will you support Board Members once committed? Because we are invested in establishing a well-trained and involved Board, we will also be hosting two 1.5 hr virtual workshops on "The Ten Responsibilities of Board Members" in March 2022 (March 10th and March 17th at 12pm). Once we have your committment, you'll be provided with login instructions.

How are your programs financially supported? We are beyond grateful to have received grant funding from the following organizations to support our mission delivery.

  • The Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (Public Awareness Campaign and Self-Advocate Education)
  • The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention (Respite & Parent Education and Support)
  • Alabama Department of Human Resources (TANF Fatherhood Program)
  • The Community Foundation of South Alabama (Parent Education)
  • The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education (Home Visiting)
  • Birmingham Talks (Parent Education)
