The Global Impact Initiative is a 501c3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas. We provide transformative education and learning, professional development, skill-building workshops and mentoring to individuals, families, and communities. We facilitate meaningful connections between local and global organizations, to build bridges of understanding and promote lifelong learning. The Grants Writer works with Gii’s Executive Leadership Team to identify prospective funding for the organization and submit proposals for funding. The Grant Writer primarily seeks out and applies for one-time or annual grants from external agencies. This is a part-time (approximately 5-10 hours per week), volunteer position.

This is a VOLUNTEER role, which is a non-salaried position.

Duties (including but not limited to):

• Identify and research grant funding opportunities.
• Write, submit and manage grant proposals, under the direction of the Operations Director.
• Maintain proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs.
• Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents.
• Report on all opportunities applied for and status.
• Maintain records through Global Impact Initiative and external grant agency databases.
• Cultivate on-going relationships with grant foundations.
• Track and maintain all records regarding incentive compensation in coordination with the Treasurer.
• Build and cultivate relationships with local, state and federal appointed and elected officials.
• Cultivate and secure local, state and federal grants and other additional government funding.
• Devote at least 5 hours weekly to grant writing responsibilities.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned, as necessary.

Job Skills Requirements:

• Possess 2+ years of grant writing experience.
• Expert writing skills
