Looking for some one or small group to shovel or snow plow (if you have one) a private home for a Breast Cancer Patient. Can include a Driveway, wheel chair ramp and side walk. Can be more than one person looking for the areas listed and surrounding areas Lindenhurst, NY, Hicksville, Freeport, Elmont, East Rockaway, Valley Stream, Merrick, Wantagh, Hempstead, Rockville center, Queens Village, Jamaica NY, Richmond Hill, Wantagh, Levittown, Douglaston, etc.....

Rocking The Road for a Cure, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) grassroots organization Our mission is to restore the strength, confidence, and physical and emotional well-being of patients coping with the challenges of breast cancer. We proudly offer free in-home health and wellness services, provided by licensed professionals, to patients undergoing breast cancer treatment in Queens and Long Island, New York.

Description

Rocking the Road for a Cure provides free in-home wellness and support services to women and men going through the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. We offer many different services to help to alleviate stress and give the client the strength needed to get through this challenging time in their lives. Some of the services we offer are Nurse/Case Management, Counseling, Yoga, Meditation, Reiki, Nutritional Consultations, Beauty Care (wigs, bras, prosthesis), Lymphedema sleeves, Massage, housekeeping, transportation, food cards, pharmacy gift cards, essential PPE packages, Post Operative bags, food delivery from pantries, and so much more. We understand that everyone will have a different experience going through the treatment of breast cancer and we make our services specific to the clients' needs. Our goal is to assist as many breast cancer clients as possible and provide them with the educational tools to help them with coping during and after their treatment to help maintain their quality of life. We have been servicing thousands of people since 2008. We receive referrals from NYU/Winthrop, Adelphi Cancer Center, Nassue Community Hospital, Full Circle Physical Therapy, OSIA, Northwell Health and many more.

  • When Long Island and Queens NY gets snow we ask that you be available to remove snow later in day when snow stops or the next day.
  • We will need two letters of recommendation from past volunteer position, teacher, job and one personnel letter both with contact information. A resume or short bio with all contact information. A student ID or Drivers License or Drivers Permit
