Her Village Inc. is looking for passionate, dedicated, and experienced professionals to serve on their Board of Directors.
Board Member Qualifications & Requirements
Experience working with and/or within non-profit spaces.
Attend monthly board meetings.
Contribute annually through fundraising, individual funds, and personal networks. Her Village Inc. doesn't have a minimum contribution amount. We ask each Board Member to give in a manner that is significant given their financial situation.
For Non-BIPOC: Must be committed to the work of anti-racism and denouncing white supremacy.
Share Her Village Inc.'s mission, vision, and goals to raise awareness of Her Village Inc, diaper need, and period poverty.
This application process has 5 parts:
1) Email your resume and cover letter to team@wearehervillage.org
2) Qualified applicants will be contacted to complete a formal board member application.
3) Interview with Her Village Inc. Executive Director and 1 current board member.
4) Volunteer at a distribution event.
5) Formal invitation to join the board is extended.

When we look at the astronomical number of 372,358 children living in poverty, our only hope is our mothers. Investing in, supporting, and empowering mothers is a decision that will echo throughout generations and positively impact not just families but for communities at large.
Her Village Inc. operates an essential items bank providing diapers, baby wipes, period supplies, hygiene items, and more at no cost to NYC families living in poverty and NYC service providers.

We anticipate the estimated time commitment per month to be about 8 hours. 1.5 hours per week plus a 2-hour meeting on the last Saturday of each month. We ask board members to plan to commit to a 3-year term.
