Hello! We are looking for someone who is interested in and able to sew. On occasion, we have requests for memory bears (which are small teddy bears made from the clothing of the deceased person). There is a pattern which we can share with you. We need someone in Norristown or nearby. I would bring the material (and needed supplies, like batting) to your home and pick up the bear(s) when you are done. I am fully vaccinated. There would not be any interaction with any of our patients.
It is my understanding that some people do this as a business but this would strictly be a volunteer opportunity. I very much hope that we can find a few people that are willing to do this. The help that that brings to the grieving process can be invaluable. It is my hope that memory bears bring some solace. (Actually, it has been wonderful to see the reactions from everyone who has received a bear.)

Einstein Montgomery Hospice is a community centered healthcare program that provides coordinated care for individuals who are in the last phases of a terminal illness so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. It is a comprehensive program that offers supportive services in homes or care facilities to meet the varied and changing needs of the patient and family - physical, emotional, social and spiritual.
