Books n Blankies is looking for a Treasurer with a passion for literacy. Our mission is to build word-rich homes by providing educational resources that support school readiness. We provide direct impact in the focus area of grade-level reading by putting books and hand-made blankets in the hands of new parents so they are equipped to build a nurturing and word-rich reading environment in their home with their young child.
We have a small budget, and the work of the Treasurer is minimal, but of course vitally important. We have 4 Board meetings per year (over Zoom for now), and additional needs (such as tax filings and reimbursents) may require 1-2 hours per month. And, of course, all board members are encouraged to help with our blanket packages and distribution as they are able.
