ORGANIZATION: Community HousingWorks (CHW)

The CHW Achiever Youth Program provides resident Middle School and High School youth with virtual leadership development and mentorship program; encouraging each youth to be a positive member of their community and achieve life-changing goals.

Through the CHW Achiever program, youth will have the opportunity to:

  • Receive ongoing Leadership-Workforce Development Mentorship
  • Attend Virtual Educational Workshops: Community Organizing, College & Career Pathways, and Financial Education
  • Give back to their community through community service, event planning and community organizing
Mentors will have the opportunity to support the student on the following topics:

1. Resume Writing
2. Homework Support
3. Crafting an Elevator Pitch
4. Networking
5. Interviewing
6. Career Mapping
7. Other hard skills (e.g. exploring necessary educational and work experience for students’
desired career field)
8. Other soft skills (e.g. understanding conflict resolution and workplace dynamics)


Mentors are needed between 4pm-6pm on Wednesday,and Friday, with the average session lasting approximately 1hr. Ideally, mentors can set a routine schedule and commit to at least 3 months of service. We will work around your life style and needs, of course!
