Best Buddies North Carolina has launched our new Citizens adult friendship program! Citizens creates one-to-one friendships between adults with and without intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) in the community. These friendships are made based on age, location and common interests. Friendship matches talk at least once a week and meet up at least twice a month (virtually or in-person based on comfort level). Matches are made for a full year and if everything is going well, the friendship is renewed. Best Buddies has a multi-step application process, that includes an online application, background check and a phone call or video interview. Please email izzitritz@bestbuddies.org to learn more!!

Best Buddies North Carolina is the newest state office of Best Buddies International, the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).Our programs help people with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self advocacy and communication skills and feel VALUED by society!
