The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County is a diverse group of dedicated professionals who volunteer their time, talent and energy to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County’s (BBBS of SDC) mentoring programs.

There are two tiers of YPC - committee members and Board members. For membership dues, all committee and Board members are required to be Match Makers, a monthly donor, contributing a minimum of $15/month to Big Brothers Big Sisters. In addition, each Board Member is responsible for bringing in $1,550 annually to support one Big/Little match for a year. Some members are current Bigs within the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program but it’s not a prerequisite to joining the committee. The committee plans and hosts several fundraising and networking events throughout the year in an effort to raise funds and increase awareness for the organization as well as recruit future Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Currently, the YPC is comprised of over 25 active committee members who meet monthly to plan several annual fundraising events. Committee members help support logistical needs and promotions for each unique event or campaign in order to ensure fundraising goals are met for BBBS of SDC.

YPC hosts several annual signature events including "Chocolate & Vino" and "Rockin’ Talent Show" as well as regular networking and volunteer opportunities (virtual until further notice).
