Special Olympics North Carolina is seeking responsible individuals to serve as Outreach Committee Members in Mecklenburg County. These volunteers will make connections within the local community to promote the Special Olympics program and the benefits to its athletes. If you live in Mecklenburg county and would like to volunteer in your local community, the responsibilities are listed below.
Make connections within the local area through schools, community groups and networking.
Educate potential athletes and their parents/guardians about how they can become involved in the program.
Ensure promotional activities are organized and attend the local program events.
Oversee and expand the social media outlets run by the local program.
Build and maintain relationships with the local news media outlets.
Experience with utilizing social media platforms.
Comfortable with public speaking.
