JCCOAD is recruiting Johnson County residents to serve as members of the Board of Directors, which serve three-year terms beginning in August of each year. Board members may serve a second three-year term. The Board meets quarterly and ensures that Communications and Volunteer Management services are in place should they be needed in case of a disaster. Experience in disaster relief or disaster management is welcome, but not necessary.

To organize community resources to achieve long-term disaster preparedness, coordination and recovery in Johnson County.
Description
JCCOAD was established in 2008 after a tornado and floods throughout the county. The organization operated with staff until December 2010 when the bulk of the recovery effort was completed. Since then, a volunteer board ensures that supports are in place in the event of another disaster.
