Transportation and Meal Delivery
Johnson County Area Agency on Aging is the home for Meals on Wheels and Catch-A-Ride. Meals on Wheels is a program that provides community based nutritional support and services to assist older persons in maintaining health and independence. The Catch-a-Ride mission is to serve the transportation needs of individuals who are 60 or over, special needs individuals or who meet low income guidelines in Johnson County.
For Meals on Wheels, volunteers will be delivering meals to homebound seniors. For Catch-A- Ride, volunteers will provide much needed transportation to seniors, special needs individuals and low income individuals. Our volunteers help those in need by providing rides to doctor's appointments or to the grocery store. Time committement and hours are flexible.
Terms: Volunteer must be at least 55 years of age, Car Required

Getting Things Done!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from as few as two hours to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
