ASSEMBLE MEDICAL KITS TO HELP COVID-19 IMPACTED HOSPITALITY WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES
The Twin Cities Hospitality & Events Workers Relief Fund (TCHF) is a program formed in April 2020 by Working Partnerships and its community partners to provide emergency support for workers affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Based in Minneapolis, the program has assisted over 1200 families in the 7-county metro area with emergency grants, advocacy, and resource referral.
The workers who serve and clean up after us whether we go to a restaurant, music or theater production, trade show, or sporting event, move through the airport or stay at a hotel are a big part of our lives and these workers and their families are especially hurting during this pandemic. Many of the people we see are not eligible for unemployment and other benefits, have no health insurance, struggle with cultural and language barriers, and care for dependent children and other family members.
We’ve identified a "Kit" that would greatly benefit our clients in need. Each kit below could be comprised of some or all of the items we list.
Medical Kit- address respiratory and diabetic, and prescription needs for people without health insurance
- Drugstore gift card
- Testing strips/diabetic supplies
- Basic first aid kit
- Air purifier
- Air filters
- Inhalers
Bulk donations of any individual items would also be much appreciated.
You could also conduct a drive for these items in bulk and engage your friends, families, and coworkers.
Whatever method you choose, we will work with you to arrange delivery or pickup to our office in Northeast Minneapolis.
