Looking for something fun to do? We have a great opportunity for someone that likes to help and volunteer their time. The Kern Medical Auxiliary is looking for reliable and committed volunteers to help out in the Snack Bar selling drinks and snacks to visitors and staff at the hospital.
The Snack Bar is run and operated by Volunteers with all proceeds benefiting the hospital.
Job Duties
- Greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner
- Operates Square cash register (we will train you)and receive payment from the customer in cash or credit card, accurately counts and provides change to customers as required.
- Sanitizes work areas and stocks supplies (all food items are pre-packaged)
- If closing the Snack Bar, balances out and completes the deposit
- Must commit to their shift and not flake out because we are depending on you

The mission of this organization is to promote and advance the welfare of Kern Medical and its patients by providing services and benefits in addition to, those provided by the County of Kern. The purposes of the Auxiliary shall include but not be limited to the following: To render volunteer service to Kern Medicaland it patients, To promote public relations for Kern Medical in the community. To raise funds for the betterment of Kern Medical. To promote interest in health careers.
Description
Kern Medical Auxiliary has a rich history of over 47 years of continuous service. Volunteers of all ages donate thousands of hours each year to assist patients, visitors and staff throughout the hospital.
Many dedicated volunteers operate the Gift Shop and the Snack Bar, raising thousands of dollars annually to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for enhancing patient care.
We invite working adults, homemakers and retiree's to explore volunteer opportunities at Kern Medical. You'll make good friends and learn new skills while giving back to the community through your "gift of time."
Adult volunteers must pass a routine health and drug screening and a background check.

- We have seating for you but you will be standing up with customers. Understands basic math and can count change. Open to learning the Square cash register technology which is a very easy system to use since it shows pictures.
