As a Skill-Based Volunteer, you will connect with a local nonprofit in meaningful & purposeful service to help address unmet community needs. During your service, you will fulfill critical project-based assignments that will bolster the infrastructure of the nonprofit at which you are serving.

Company Background: The mission of OneOC is to accelerate nonprofit success. Through its Skill-Based Volunteer Program, OneOC creates a culture of service by enriching people's lives through connecting adult volunteers to nonprofit needs, mission and service.

Position: Experienced applicants of all ages are encouraged to apply. Ideal Skill-Based Volunteer candidates for the Website Development field should be qualified in the following areas:

Fluency in core web development scripting languages: HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Knowledgeable in one or more server-side programming languages, such as Java, PHP and .Net.

Using search engine optimization (SEO) to develop websites that rank high in Google, Bing, etc.

Testing web pages and web apps in multiple browsers.

Implementing Cascade Style Sheets (CSS) to efficiently control the style of multiple pages in site.

Developing websites that interact with popular database systems like MySQL, SQL Server & Oracle.

Using wireframes to plan the layout, navigation and functionality of new web development projects.

Communicating with clients and colleagues to troubleshoot websites and optimize performance.

Designing, writing and editing content.

Creating back up files.

Solving code problems.
