Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation's is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City with a mission to focus on and support both the children diagnosed with cancer and their families, financially and emotionally. We were started by a 12 year old cancer survivor named Elana Koenig who featured on CBS2, spoke at the World Net Summit alongside Steve Wozniak, reached hundreds of thousands of people on social media, and met with celebrities like Selana Gomez and politicians like Liz Krueger. We’re looking for someone with moderate grant-writing experience to help us spearhead a search for capacity-building grants to expand our operations. The asks are:

  • Apply for private and public grants eligible for non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organizations
  • Search within GrantStation/World Wide Web for grants that apply to our new foundation

It should not take more than a couple hours a week. The only requirement is previous experience working on a grant and a familiarity with grant-search software.

Mission Statement

Koenig Childhood Cancer Foundation's is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in New York City with a mission to focus on and support both the children diagnosed with cancer and their families, financially and emotionally. We essentially "adopt" the child and their families, and in doing so, we bring them into the KCCF Family and support their direct and indirect challenges as our budget allows. We handle many of their needs such as medical payments not covered by insurance, travel and housing-related expenses and emotional support such as birthdays and other events. Vision Statement: We heal the emotional and financial wounds of childhood cancer. Mission Statement: To build a child-led community of healing that individualizes support to families fighting childhood cancer. We’re there from diagnosis to beyond remission, because the financial and emotional burden of illness lingers even if cancer itself does not.

Description

What differentiates us from other organizations?
* We help children diagnosed with cancer, not only in during treatment, but also after, as long as the family needs it.
* We support a project in Azerbaijan to send children outside the country to get treatment not available there.
* We are global; supporting children from all over the world who come to MSKCC and the Ronald McDonald House Charities in New York City.
