Volunteer Position Description

The Communications Chair plays a critical role in raising awareness of the world's toughest cancer and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) via earned media placements in their local communities. In alignment with PanCAN's strategic goal to be the "go-to organization for pancreatic cancer," the Communications Chair has three main focuses throughout the year. PurpleStride, Advocacy Summit and November Awareness.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Description

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and government advocacy. The organization raises money for direct private funding of research - and advocates for more aggressive federal research funding of medical breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
