Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell
Habitat Lowell is in the process of renovating an old house on Alpine St for Delilah and her 3 children. The house has been stripped to the studs and the process of making this an affordable, energy efficient home are underway. If you like to paint, lay flooring, tile, hang doors or even siding this is the chance to volunteer. All volunteers are welcome no matter your skill level. This is Habitat Lowells 49th home in the Greater Lowell community.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell (HFHGL), is a non-profit 501(c)3 whose mission is to provide decent affordable housing to families who would otherwise be forced by circumstances to live in substandard housing. HFHGL works in partnership with corporations, individual volunteers, local community groups and faith based organizations to develop communities for people in need by building and renovating simple, decent, energy efficient affordable homes. HFHGL has been servicing 15 communities in the Greater Lowell area since 1991. HFHGL has built or rehabilitated 40 homes for families in our local community as well as 61 homes globally and completed 28 Critical Repair for a local veterans and elderly. Habitat believes in providing a hand up not a hand out to end the cycle of poverty housing. Towns supported by HFHGL are Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Wakefield, Westford, and Wilmington.
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, HFHGL builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest mortgage. Partner families are also required to help build their home. They must commit to building up to 450 hours. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build more houses.
