Job Description

Helping Hands Community is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those most vulnerable to COVID-19: senior citizens, the immunocompromised, and people with preexisting medical conditions that put them at additional risk. Our technology platform empowers community partners-including food banks and pantries, health care providers, and city and county governments-to deliver groceries and other essential supplies at scale through our network of delivery partners and volunteers in our efforts to help us identify and reach those in need. Founded by veterans of Uber, Facebook, and Google, the Helping Hands Community organization comprises more than 150 volunteers from professionals who want to give back to students beginning their careers from around the country.

About the Role:

Our Field Operations team builds partnerships in key markets across the United States. We are looking for a strong sales leader to co-lead a team that develops partnerships with organizations that can serve their vulnerable constituents using the Helping Hands platform. On a day to day basis, you will drive field partnerships pipeline with organizations like food banks, healthcare services, and other community groups, and support Partnership Specialists in their engagements. This role is absolutely critical to scaling our platform and reaching a larger population of those most vulnerable to Covid-19.

What You’ll Do:
  • Build and lead a team to partner with organizations and mobilize volunteers for the Helping Hands Community across the US.
  • Identify, engage, contract with, and activate partners that serve at-risk populations that HHC can help.
  • Work closely with the Partner Success team to onboard partners and ensure their success with Helping Hands Community
  • Solve our local user’s needs through creativity, connections, and grit.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years experience managing a team in sales, account management, community outreach, or partnerships
  • Entrepreneurial leader and a go-getter with a strong local network to quickly recruit additional team members and connect with organizations
  • Can bring empathy and operational rigor to engaging the community to help those who are most vulnerable to Covid-19
  • Demonstrated leader who can manage a distributed, volunteer Field Operations team
  • Ability to commit up to 15 hours/week for the next 2-3 months. Availability to support partner meetings during weekday business hours required.
Commitment To The Team:

Helping Hands Community is a team of volunteers that have mobilized to help slow the spread of Covid-19. The majority of volunteers are devoting time outside of their other job to support the Helping Hands Community. The demands for a leadership role like this requires someone who can devote up to 15 hours/week to this job. Because the team is dispersed across the country and due to the unique hours individuals are working, frequent use of communication channels like Slack and email is critical to ensure no one is bottlenecking decisions or tasks.

We connect people who must shelter in place with those who can safely deliver critical items (like food, medicine, or household goods) and provide various forms of assistance (like dog-walking, mail pick-ups, or conversations). By facilitating these connections, we can help protect neighbors from contracting severe illness, and each other from an overwhelmed healthcare system.

Founded by a diverse group of volunteers - including both veterans of Uber, Facebook, and Google and students beginning their careers - Helping Hands is built and operated by a team of over 100 volunteers around the world with backgrounds in engineering, design, operations, marketing, and policy. We have experience building solutions for scale, and we're using that knowledge to help communities shelter in place while still getting what they need to remain comfortable.

The current health crisis is unprecedented. We must continue to protect our families, our loved ones, and our fellow community members. We are all in this together, and together, there is a lot of good we can do.
