Save the Children

Save the Children is looking for individuals who reside in the MS River Delta area (Bolivar, Coahoma, Quitman and Tallahatchie counties) who want to give back to their community by help children become lifelong readers while being a mentor.

AmeriCorp Seniors receive monthly tax free stipends, personal time off (12 days a year), supplemental accident and liability insurance, paid training and mileage reimbursement. AmeriCorp Seniors are required to serve a minimum of 15 hours a week and meet an income requirement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 55
  • Orientation or Training
  • AmeriCorp Seniors are required to serve a minimum of 15 hours a week in order to build lasting relationships with the children which they serve.
  • Since volunteers will be serving children whom are a vulnerable population, each volunteer must successful pass a State Background Check as well as FBI fingerprint.
