Become Carbon Negative are a non-profit organisation dedicated to giving back to the environment. Volunteering for Become Carbon Negative offers an opportunity to help support an eco-friendly, sustainable cause and make a help positive impact to the environment.

Role description

Work within the marketing team to roll out the marketing strategy, annual marketing calendar and PR plans. Focus on building brand awareness, planning key relevant marketing/PR activities and social media management.

Marketing:

• Input into multi-channel communication plans that align with the annual marketing calendar.

• Support management of the customer journey from pre-site awareness, to on site engagement, and post site re-engagement.

• Contribute to digital content plans and seasonal events/ activities to ensure engagement of the Become Carbon Negative existing audience.

• Work on tactics to attract a new audience, with focus on increasing subscriber numbers as well as social followers.

• Research and present new content opportunities that are relevant and engaging for the Become Carbon Negative audience.

• Progress networking opportunities including partnerships to widen the existing community.

• Review performance indicators for all marketing channel and regularly present back findings.

• Present competitor analysis and share relevant newsworthy articles to ensure the wider team are kept up to date.

PR:

• Support the Head of Marketing with the implementation of PR and media relations campaigns.

• Work on press release's for all major company announcements.

• Create, analyse and evaluate all PR coverage.

• Liase with press contacts to generate press coverage, focusing mainly on UK and US markets.

• Conduct market research and identify publicity opportunities.

• Monitor industry news and competitor organisations.

• Progress networking opportunities including PR partnerships to widen the existing community.

• Review performance indicators for all PR metrics and regularly present back findings.

• Present competitor analysis and share relevant newsworthy articles to ensure the wider team are kept up to date.

Social:

• Identify and execute strategies to increase social media audience across all channels

• Contribute to digital content plans and seasonal events/ activities to ensure engagement of the existing Become Carbon Negative audience.

• Review performance indicators for all marketing channels and regularly present back findings.

• Input into multi-channel communication plans that align with the annual marketing calendar.

• Support management of the customer journey from pre-site awareness, to on site engagement, and post site re-engagement.

• Research and present new content opportunities that are relevant and engaging for the Become Carbon Negative audience.

Any of the following would be highly advantageous:

- Marketing/PR industry experience

- I.T skills, including social media

- Good communication skills

- Non-profit/charity/volunteering experience

We support flexible working, activities can be scheduled however best fits you. However we are only looking for volunteers who are sure that they are able to commit to regular ongoing active participation.
