Right now, minority entrepreneurs are facing unique barriers to business success. At SCORE, we’re working to change that by removing those obstacles and providing minority-owned businesses with access to personalized support in our SCORE for All program: to meet business owners where they are and help them reach their business goals.

As a mentor you will use your industry-based knowledge and expertise to help clients solve problems, increase business efficiency, and assist with developing long-term business plans. Mentors often have significant experience within their field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to dedicate a few hours a week.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be asked to provide specialized support and advice to assist a SCORE mentor when an entrepreneur needs information on a specific topic.

Minority-owned businesses need support in several areas including (but not limited to): government contracting, minority business enterprise certification, financial management, bookkeeping, human resources, website development, digital marketing, IT infrastructure, business development, and startup strategies.

If you have a few hours per month and want to share your knowledge in support of local small business owners, become a SCORE Mentor or Subject Matter Expert.

SCORE is a nonprofit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration that helps aspiring and existing entrepreneurs succeed. Every year, our volunteers help thousands of entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of starting small businesses and achieving new levels of success. Volunteering is a way for you to give back, network with business experts, and share your knowledge. Join SCORE today to make a meaningful difference in your local economy.
