We provide a strong and safe platform where students can explore and publicly express their diverse points of view on topics they care about. We continue to grow steadily, with volunteers from over 5 continents, and reach a very diverse audience worldwide.

We are currently expanding our divisions and looking for a passionate, dedicated Social Media Manager interested in managing one or more than one of the following accounts: Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. The application form will allow an applicant to choose a preferred platform.

Job description

A candidate must participate in 1. Social Media Management Meeting every other week (scheduled in advance) and 2. General Group Meeting once a month on the second Sunday @ 10 am EST.

Instagram

• Output informative, engaging, and up to date content.
• Manage the Instagram team (tracking collaboration, checking deadlines).
• Brainstorm strategy to promote follower growth
• Frequently post Instagram Stories.
• Communicate closely with the Instagram Graphic Designers and Social Media Writer to effectively develop Instagram content.

Twitter

• Output engaging and candid content. Your goal is to increase engagement from the Gen Z and Millennial demographic. Frequent content output/retweeting is required in this position.
• Engage in posts/tweets made by other accounts through tags, retweets, and replies to gain followers.
• Communicate closely with co-Twitter Manager to allocate the work efficiently and devise/implement Twitter engagement strategies.

Facebook

• Create engaging content posts and media that appropriately appeal to the Gen. Z and Millennial demographics on Facebook
• Maintain a twice per week -MINIMUM- posting schedule for Facebook (Note: more can be done at Manager’s own discretion and/or as breaking events that need to be addressed happen)
• Understand and engage with the community on Facebook and answer questions/comments / relevant matters or issues as they come up
• Expand followers for Facebook Page.

Linkedin

• Create engaging content posts and media that -appropriately- appeal primarily to the Millennial demographic on LinkedIn
• Maintain once a week on LinkedIn (Note: more can be done at Manager’s own discretion and/or as breaking events that need to be addressed happen)
• Understand and engage with the community on the platform and answer questions/comments/relevant matters or issues as they come up
• Expand followers for Linkedin Page.

Requirements:

• Currently in either high school or university.
• 24/7 access to the Internet and will be able to promptly communicate with team members through various platforms, including Slack and Instagram.
• Ability to commit to our organization at a minimum until June 2021.
• Ideally possess the following skills/qualities:
• Basic knowledge or understanding of demographics and posting styles for the chosen platform(s)
• Basic knowledge or understanding of appropriate marketing and public engagement for the chosen platform(s)
• Proficient writing and verbal communication skills
• Organization, efficiency, creativity, self-initiative skills
• Preferably a working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite products (to help create posts)
• Dedication and basic knowledge of remote work tools (i.e. Zoom, Google Drive, etc.)
