VU Chicago is looking for a Database Coordinator to join our Leadership Team! This is a perfect role for you if you are a self-starter, geek out on data (in a good way!), and are up for supporting our work in tracking our impact, volunteer statistics, and supporting the management of our inventory. This role reports directly into the Executive Director, yet will likely work across many committees to support a variety of goals and projects.
Role Responsibilities: - Manage the capture of impact data after each monthly volunteer event. - Update volunteer database (based on attendance) on a monthly basis. Own distribution of t-shirts, pint glasses, gloves, and any other swag to volunteers at the bar. This would not include picking up items from the storage unit for each event (this would be handled by drivers). - Own management of inventory list, sending reminders post-event to the leadership team to update. Order items that have been depleted (i.e. wipes, nametags), submitting receipts to Finance Director. - Once every other month, Database Manager will re-organize storage unit, notifying leadership team of large changes - Other projects as identified!
Leadership Team Responsibilities: - Communicate via Slack with all VU Chicago board and committee members, as an open forum and method of organization - Participate in quarterly Leadership team meetings. This is typically a 1 hour commitment 4 times a year outside of normal business hours (~6pm start time) - Arrive at monthly events early and stay late to assist with set up and clean up of events - Attend a minimum of 10 monthly events a year - Time commitment ~1-3 hours/week
Qualities of an Ideal Candidate: - Extremely strong at organizing and tracking information - Experience with data and databases - Data visualization and/or analysis, a plus - Has a passion for volunteering!

Improving Chicago through increasing volunteerism.
Chicago possesses compassionate individuals who care about their communities and want to make a change. Up until now though, those individuals and their individual talents have been underutilized.
That’s where we come in. We strive to "untap" resources and opportunities in Chicago for those we serve. There’s a huge group of talented young professionals in the city who want to volunteer. We connect those volunteers with a wide array of nonprofits in the Chicagoland area, whether directly through our events, or through connections we help cultivate outside the structure of our program.
Community is central to our organization. After volunteering on the second Saturday morning of every month, we reward the hard work of our volunteers by tapping beers at the bar, tapping into new connections with other young people, and tapping into new opportunities and relationships through giving back and inspiring change in our communities.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
