Do you have a knack or interest with working on data and analytics? Volunteering Untapped Chicago is looking for our next data product owner to own and drive initiatives related to data management and insights across VU. This volunteer position will focus on owning all data activities, working with various leadership members on data related priorities and driving insights across VU. This committee member will be working closely with our Director of Operations. The estimated time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours/week.
Activities:
1. Create and maintain a partnerships (community & businesses) database to track monthly events. Collaborate with our Nonprofit Partnerships, Finance, and Social Partnerships committees to effectively organize partnership and survey data.
2. Update volunteer database (based on attendance) on a monthly basis.
3. Own distribution of t-shirts, pint glasses, gloves, and any other swag to volunteers at the event after-parties.
4. Collaborate with the logistics coordinator and volunteer experience coordinator over insights and recommendations for pre and post event operations and improvements.
5. Manage the capture and sharing of impact data after each monthly volunteer event.
6. Work with VU Volunteer Experience Coordinator (Ops) for continuous feedback, insights and improvement via data-driven decision making.
7. Work with the rest of the various committee teams to support data insights and projects.
8. Works with JEDI team to ensure data driven insights and feedback is reflected.
9. Works with the rest of the Operations team, to ensure quality execution of events, pre and post, while having a continuous loop of feedback and improvement.
10. Attending in-person quarterly leadership meetings.
11. Attending at least 9 monthly events a year and providing day-of support.
Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
1. Extremely strong at organizing and tracking contact information.
2. Good at managing data, excel, email and communications in a timely manner.
3. Power BI experience preferred but not required.
4. Able to strike the balance between professional and friendly, both in writing and in person.
5. Has a passion for volunteering!

That’s where we come in. We strive to "untap" resources and opportunities in Chicago for those we serve. There’s a huge group of talented young professionals in the city who want to volunteer. We connect those volunteers with a wide array of nonprofits in the Chicagoland area, whether directly through our events, or through connections we help cultivate outside the structure of our program.
Community is central to our organization. After volunteering on the second Saturday morning of every month, we reward the hard work of our volunteers by tapping beers at the bar, tapping into new connections with other young people, and tapping into new opportunities and relationships through giving back and inspiring change in our communities.
