Now more than ever, girls need the social and emotional skill-building lessons of Girls on the Run. Social isolation and stressors related to the COVID-19 pandemic may be affecting the girls in your community more than you know.

Will Coaching look different this year due to Covid? Safety is always our first priority. We have created a Covid Health & Safety Plan (visit our website to read the plan), and we are offering virtual or in-person/hybrid practice options. Coaches may coach with an in-person or virtual team.
You don't have to be a runner to be a coach. C oaches simply must be passionate about the mission of Girls on the Run; committed to working with a group of girls once or twice a week for 8 weeks and bring positive energy to each practice.
Will you help us inspire our girls to make positive choices, avoid negative behaviors and become leaders in our community? Girls on the Run will provide a thorough training along with the materials and support needed for a successful season! Included with information and tips on working with and motivating adolescent girls, our training will cover organizational policies, procedures and "sneak- peeks" at various lessons within our curriculum. The program finishes with a celebration event that includes a 5K run/walk.

Description
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that envisions a world where every girl* knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams! The ten-week long program for teams of 8-15 participants in 3rd - 8th grade meets weekly for 90 minutes with volunteer coaches (trained by certified GOTR staff) from your community, and combines training for a site-based 5K with a research-based curriculum that promotes critical social-emotional skills at a time when girls need it the most.
*Girls on the Run is a program for all girls: cis-, trans-, gender-nonconforming, and non-binary people who are comfortable in spaces that center the experience of girls. Our council is dedicated to every participant having the same high-quality experience.
