RNs, NPs, MDs needed for Transgender/Gender Diverse Summer Youth Camp!

The Laurel Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS, and transgender/gender diverse youth, and other at-risk youth. We are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurses certified in California who want to make a difference. If you love to help others, make life-long friendships, and expand your horizons, then volunteer at Camp Laurel!!

For our Camp Mulberry, we transport children (ages 8-17) that identify as transgender/gender diverse to a safe, affirming and fun environment where they are free to just be themselves. Our programs enable these at-risk youth to experience the magic and wonders of childhood free from the stresses of their daily lives. Through love, compassion and hope, Camp Mulberry teaches children to understand that each one of them has the ability to make his or her life as full and rich as the next child’s regardless of the obstacles that are in their path. We empower families to grow closer and form bonds with families that have similar stories.

Volunteers at Camp Laurel act as role models, mentors, friends, and a support system for these youth. Volunteers will get the opportunity to work directly with the kids at camp and get to participate in a variety of traditional camp activities (archery, arts & crafts, campfires, yoga, rock climbing, etc.).

Serving as a Camp Mulberry Medical Staff is a rewarding and challenging experience, one that many volunteers return to year after year. Volunteers must be RNs, NPs, or MDs registered in California. Housing and food is provided for those accepted into our program.
