Do you love helping others, watching positive change happen in people’s lives and sharing meaningful stories? If you answered yes to these questions then this skill-based volunteer opportunity is for you!
Courageous Connections brings humans and horses together to empower participants with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges towards achieving their individual goals. In short, we create magic by bringing people from all backgrounds and walks of life together to experience the healing power of horses.
We have a BIG idea and are looking for help from experienced and knowledgeable equitation judges. We plan to hold a virtual horse show to raise funds and step one is finding judges willing to donate their time and expertise. We estimate between 20-50 participants across all events. This is a first time fund-raising event of this type for us. Judges do not need to be carded but do need appropriate experience and background.
Virtual Horse Show Judges:
- Judges will help organize the event by:
- Finalizing Classes, Events & Patterns
- Providing event details for publication in registration process
- Judges will review video submissions, judge and score each one providing feedback that can be sent to the participant.
- Judges do not necessarily have to be carded but do need appropriate experience to perform activities noted
Courageous Connections will provide:
- The majority of event planning including registration, managing video submissions and payment etc.
- A tax receipt for and in-kind donation based upon your volunteer hours
- Recognition Courageous Connections on website as well as social media

Mission Statement
To promote the physical and emotional development of people of all ages and abilities through safe, therapeutic, outdoor experiences.
Description
We are excited to be able to offer equine assisted learning all year round as we now have a space with a covered arena. With all that has gone on in the world around us in the past two years it is more important than ever to have a safe space to explore how you are feeling, how you interact with others and practice self care. Horses have an amazing way of gently helping us 'see' our own behavior and how it might impact those around us. We offer individual class as well as workshops for special groups like Cancer Life Line.
