About Open Skies Healthcare
Open Skies Healthcare has a reputation as a strong, reliable provider of behavioral health services in New Mexico. Since our inception in 2013, we have been widely respected for providing individualized service and quality care, renowned for our innovative and skilled employees, and acclaimed for doing whatever is needed for those we serve.
In fiscal year 2017, Open Skies Healthcare provided behavioral health care to more than 2,088 children and adolescents and adults, along with compassionate support to their families and caregivers.
A focus of our wrap around care-the coordination of mental health, substance abuse and primary care services-helps our members improve both their mental and physical health, which strengthens them on their path to recovery.
Open Skies Healthcare was ranked by the Albuquerque Magazines as one of the best nonprofit providers in Albuquerque.

The Opportunity
The Board’s primary responsibility is to represent the values and mission of Open Skies Healthcare to the community, and develop support for its programs, services and members among stakeholders. It is also the governing body of the organization and responsible for oversight of its business operations.
As a member of the Board, you will:
□ Support Open Skies commitment to creating partnerships, inspiring hope, and changing lives
□ Develop our foundation of excellence to ensure Open Skies is the best place to receive care, the best place to work, and the best place to provide services
□ Provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance
□ Ensure that programming adheres to and achieves Open Skies mission
□ Oversee financials, including adoption and management of annual operating budget
□ Identify and recruit strong Board members and contribute to their leadership development
□ Serve on committees or task forces, accept special assignments, and actively support special activities of the Board
□ Promote Open Skies to stakeholders and the public
□ Serve a one-, two- or three- year term
□ Attend Board meetings at least quarterly
□ Contribute an annual cash gift
Qualifications
Open Skies Healthcare seeks to broaden the range of experience on its Board by adding volunteer members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
□ Administration
□ Finance
□ Fundraising
□ Legal compliance
□ Marketing
□ Personnel management
□ Program development
As we serve primarily Medicaid covered indviduals, we also seek representatives from that segment of the population, including family members of those we serve, or those who demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the unique needs and challenges of these vulnerable people.
All Board members must have personal qualities of integrity, credibility, accountability, and transparency, and exhibit compassion and a passion for improving the lives of the members of Open Skies Healthcare.
