Who we are
Mission Statement - Pro Musica Colorado is a professional chamber orchestra. Through our performances of diverse works, we create a musical dialogue that evokes the full range of human expression by bringing fresh perspectives to the music of the past, presenting the visceral immediacy of new music, and sharing new voices from ethnically and racially diverse cultures.
What we stand for
Pro Musica Colorado is recognized for outstanding performances of the classics (Bach, Haydn, and Mozart), contemporary composers, and music by terrific women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC composers. In presenting diverse and contemporary music, PMC presents the full range of human experience and strives for equity in classical music.
Meet the moment
When you join our Board of Directors, you’re committing to a high-quality arts organization that is taking a lead in establishing equity in gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ethnicity from the orchestral stage.
Vision in Action
In its past two concert seasons, Pro Musica Colorado: performed compositions by composers of color, dedicated a concert to the issue of climate change, and pivoted from live performances to live-streamed concerts during the COVID19 pandemic. Looking ahead, Pro Musica Colorado’s goals include: engaging and celebrating our LGBTQ+ community and seeking racial equity and representation at all levels of the organization, as we continue to serve music lovers in the Boulder-Denver region.
