ORGANIZATION: AMERICAN NATIONAL RED CROSS

When someone enlists in the military, they provide the Red Cross with the contact information of a family member so that the Red Cross can contact the family member and educate them on Red Cross programs for military families, with an emphasis on our emergency messaging service.

A casework volunteer will be assigned an average of 15 cases a week. Each case only takes an estimated 10-20 minutes to work.

In order to close a case within the required 7 days, the volunteer caseworkers need to speak on the phone with the family member OR make two phone call attempts, with voicemails if available, followed by a mailing of brochures by email or USPS.

The casework can pick the 2+ days and hours of the day they’d like to work the cases.
