Senior Care Home Entertainment

Quick Overview: Our nonprofit, Senior Care Home Entertainment, is seeking a volunteer Social Media Manager. As a non-profit serving the senior care and nursing home community, we need someone with social media marketing expertise to advise/consult/manage our social media platforms.

Mission: The mission of Senior Care Home Entertainment is to alleviate depression and loneliness among the residents of senior care and nursing homes by providing premium, live music and entertainment performances at no cost to the care homes.

The current health crisis prevents us from sending our musicians and entertainers into senior care and nursing homes so to continue to serve our non-profit mission, we have created a television series specifically for those isolated residents. The series, Entertaining Older Folks, is a weekly, one-hour, variety-style program with music, comedy, magic, poetry and so much more! It streams on YouTube on the Senior Care Home Entertainment Channel. It is available 24 hours a day on televisions, tablets, computers and phones.

Through social media we are aiming to create awareness for our nonprofit, our television series as well as our fundraising.

Impact: Social media posts on FB, IG, TW and LinkedIn have been increasing traffic and getting us increased views on our YouTube channel. We aim to continue and build upon this early progress.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Create and schedule weekly posts and follow up on platforms to further engage people to discover us. We expect the Social Media Manager to spend around 2 - 3 hours a week creating/scheduling posts and following up on social media.

Requirements: Social media and marketing experience

Accessibility: This volunteer opportunity is 100% remote
