Columbia Slough Watershed Council
Come help restore this former hazelnut farm that has recently been converted into one of East County’s incredible natural areas. CSWC and Portland Parks & Recreation will provide native plants and tools as we restore the existing red cedar forest and plant new shrub and forb understory at the only remaining surface creek that flows into the Columbia Slough.

The Columbia Slough Watershed Council is a community based organization that works to foster action to protect, enhance, restore, and revitalize the Columbia Slough and its watershed. We work to accomplish our mission through education, community involvement, and stewardship. Our vision is an urban watershed rich in clean water and healthy habitats that supports the needs of fish, wildlife, plants, and people.
The Columbia Slough Watershed Council has three main interests: education, community involvement, and stewardship. Our education program focuses on Slough School, a hands-on science classroom and field trip program for students kindergarten through high school. Community involvement includes workshops and special events, such as Explorando El Columbia Slough and the Columbia Slough Regatta. Through monitoring and restoration activities, we work to improve the natural areas in the watershed.
