During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Homestead Hospice provides comfort care to patients on a most important journey. The ability to serve those in need is a profound honor to both staff and volunteers. Volunteering is an essential element to ones own personal healing as well as to those you are caring for. It makes a genuine difference to so many people. Consider the power of a gentle touch of the hand, a smile and a receptive heart listening to those who have so much to express. Homestead Hospice believes that no one should ever be alone in their final journey.
We need kind and compassionate volunteers to provide companionship and friendly visits with a flexible schedule. We look to our valued volunteers to assist with activities, reading, games and companionship in varied locations as well as offering support to families that are often overwhelmed. They too need encouragement and a kind ear to listen. Homestead Hospice understands that everyone is not able or prefers to help in other ways such as in an office setting. We want to assure you that CDC social distancing guidelines and wearing protective gear is of the utmost importance. Additionally and as applicable to training, all in-home volunteers will be required to adhere to guidelines for safety as well.
We are seeking individuals with a kind and nurturing spirit to provide volunteer services to those patients that are receiving hospice or palliative services either in the home or when able, in facility/community environments. Homestead Hospice will provide training for every level of our volunteer programming. We are so thankful to spend the time we do with our family members. We are hopeful that this experience will benefit you in ways that it has for so many others that choose the greatest expression of kindness and consideration which is to give of your time. Thank you in advance for your interest.
