Oromo Legacy Leadership and Advocacy Association
Overview
OLLAA, a nonprofit focused on advancing human rights in Ethiopia by organizing the Oromo diaspora abroad is looking for a volunteer with experience in video editing/graphic production to help us create short, informative videos. These videos will seek to educate the public regarding the Oromo people and the human rights issues that they face. The videos will likely be short, around 1-3 minutes in length, and be composed of graphics/imagery. The selected candidate will help us determine the look and feel of the videos as well as work to produce them.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a skillset in making short, educational videos and a passion for human rights.
This project is a priority for us because a key part of our mission is educating the public regarding Oromos and the human rights issues that they face. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to play a vital role in this mission through these videos.800 W Broad St 100 #263, Falls Church, VA 22040, US
To be a force for human rights, women's rights, and indigenous people's rights by empowering individuals and communities across the globe.
Who we are
OLLAA began in 2017 as the Coalition of Oromos for Human Rights and Democracy (COHRD). CORHD was an organization established to give voice to Oromo youth who were being killed, harassed, or imprisoned for the "crime" of protesting. In 2020, COHRD became OLLAA, a more comprehensive organization seeking to empower Oromos, neighbors & organizations to connect and thrive; not just merely exist or survive. OLLAA also means neighbors in Afaan Oromo.
What we do
By uniting and connecting Oromos and non-Oromos around the world, the Oromo Legacy Leadership & Advocacy Association (OLLAA) strives to promote universal values of human rights throughout Ethiopia and East Africa. OLLAA believes that it is only through these principles that Oromos, no matter where they may reside, can flourish and work to effect positive change. OLLAA's work takes many forms but mainly focuses on Advocacy and Education.
We'll work with your schedule.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
